2014 has been an amazing year filled with new projects, new goals and new challenges.One of the highlights of 2014 was having the honor of coming on board to handle the PR and Event Planning Logistics for the AFRIMMA.
AFRICAN MUZIK MAGAZINE AWARDS (AFRIMMA) is the sole award ceremony in the Diaspora that caters to all musical genres including but not limited to: Afrobeats, Assiko, Bongo, Decale, Funana, Genge, Highlife, Hiplife, Kwaito, Lingala and Soukous.
It was an honor to work with our amazing team to pull of this grand and spectacular event. After 10 months of planning,
we welcomed guests from over 17 countries in Africa ( Nigeria, Tanzania, Ghana, South Africa, Ethiopia etc), Jamaica, Grenada, Canada and over 30 cities in the US.
Logistically, this event had so many elements from international flights, visas, programming, stage lighting, Production, Marketing etc. and was a very detail specific project.
Even as a first year event, AFRIMMA stay true to the company’s motto of ” crossing boundaries with music”.
July 26th,2014 the night of AFRIMMA, the event was trending globally on twitter, and garnered international attention.
Some artists who won event received grand welcome parades when they returned to their countries of origin as well as phone calls from the President of their country.
It is the concept of Anderson Obiagwu, CEO of Big A Entertainment, an International Event & Concert Promotional Company and African Muzik Magazine. AFRIMMA represents so many different things. As African Music continues to gain international appeal, AFRIMMA strongly aids in the visibility and recognition of the best artists throughout Africa/ The Caribbean and the US.
